Net Zero And Agenda 30 Will See Us Living In A New Stone Age Of Technocratic Design

I love ‘the environment’. I really do. I do what I do because I love the environment, being in the environment and surrounded by nature and climate. But you know what, there are plans afoot to curtail my wild country experiences, to limit my ability to travel to the places that I want to go to and there are those that would have me ‘own nothing’ and live within a ‘fifteen-minute city’. Change is often painful. And painful change I can accept, if ‘the science is settled’ and the benefits or need outweigh the pain. But you know what? The science is not settled, far from it.

I think that anthropogenic climate change, if it even exists, is so negligible as to make a rather dark joke, on us all, of the likes of Greta Thunberg and her ilk. To date, not one person has been able or willing to try to refute the facts I espouse, which I detail here in easy to digest bites.

The film linked to at the bottom of this article, ‘Climate The Movie’, ought to be a wake-up call to us all. Its production values are high and the science leaders, including Nobel Prize winners, collectively state that climate change is not the result of human activity. This ought to be seen as a powerful message that we should take note of. However, as outlined in the film, voices such as those interviewed are not heard and younger voices fear the telling of the truth.

From my perspective, as a small business owner, I see another five years of easy living. Then, the cost of running a vehicle, needed for use with clients and to get to locations for tours and walks, will become too onerous. Insurance has been reported as quadrupling over the past year. Fuel prices will rise as we draw closer to 2030 then 2035. Cheap air travel is having, right now, a last gasp and don’t forget those plans to have you happy and contained within your ‘sector’. On a local level, authorities are reducing parking and putting up parking costs. Speed limits are being reduced and city centres turned into a car no go zone, with unworkable cycling and pedestrian schemes put in place to have the driver simply give up trying.

I gain my income from introducing small groups of visitors to the landscapes of Wales, by guiding across the mountains and along valleys lesser trod. Well, I and you can kiss all of that goodbye if we allow this nonsense to continue…
