Yes, who indeed. A rather lovely if in places needing some attention kinda path has been bulldozed and in places is awash with mud and in places has been turned into a highway, a broad and sloppily laid track of stone chippings that after just a month is looking worse for wear.
Wales Outdoors have requested information from the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority on the destruction of the nature of the place, the driving in of multiple access routes and the leaving, for a whole summer, the path in a dangerous and VERY muddy state.
Tens of thousands of pounds will have been spent, and on a path that is rarely used by walkers other than those accompanying Wales Outdoors. If only this money would have been used to repair ‘the dangerous path’ which the BBNP intend to close for good because they have decided that they don’t want walkers using it.
What do you think? Make unnecessary repairs or repair and maintain access? We know what we would prefer…
