And lets's see more business' follow the Wales Outdoors example
I use Lush products. Yes, they are expensive but apparently they are free from all the nasties and ethically designed and made. I don't go into their shops, however. No, that is too traumatic! The swarming of staff and the almost fawning, hyper friendly approaches are jut too much for me. So I buy online and have a gorgeous super lovely smelly box of goodies delivered.
Like Wales Outdoors Lush are ethical. Like Wales Outdoors Lush have and continue to lead the way in thier industry, delivering people first products and kicking out at 'the man'. Like Wales Outdoors Lush have looked at social media and decided that it is not only fake, duplicitous and unnaccountable but that it is damaging, and seriously damaging at that. And like Wales Outdoors Lush have decided to stop where possible it's use of the social media giants platforms.
Some time ago Wales Outdoors decided to drop out of and delete Twitter, to never go for either Snapchat or TikTok, to call out and mothball Instagram, to delete our Vimeo account, to limit YouTube usage, to delete WhatsApp and to where possible have content on facebook link back to our own social zone, our wholly owned and hosted by Wales Outdoors and so safe and friendly community space.
This is what Lush said:
Cosmetics firm Lush says it is deactivating some social media accounts until platforms "take action to provide a safer environment" for users.
And you can read all about this positive decision here.
Of course this will effect the profits at Lush as likley it has effectewd the profits at Wales Outdoors, but, life is not all about money and we applaud as company as large as Lush taking the plunge and diving into a world of health and smiles. Good on them.
