It was a week of blue skies, zero rain and 20-plus degrees. Delivering our walks felt like a holiday :)
This week saw us take on a new guide, Tom, who is a resident of Snowdonia and a recently qualified and keen Mountain Leader. Tom delivered his first walk for us, a hike to the summit of Snowdon with four Wales Outdoors clients.
Andy was back from Snowdonia for a couple of days and delivering a sold out Eight Waterfalls walk then alongside Graham and Kate (and Mali) it was back up to Snowdonia to meet our group of 37 Dutch hikers for a four day walking holiday taking in locations in the North, South and West of Wales.
Snowdon
It was a fine day for Tom’s first wander for us, and he chose the Rangers Path to the summit of the most popular mountain in the UK.
Waterfalls
A mid-week sell-out tour of the eight waterfalls in fine weather and finer spirits. What a lovely group and big thanks to Clun Gwyn Cafe for the coffee, cake and dog ice cream :)
Llanberis
Snowdon Mountain Railway badly let us and our 37 Dutch clients down, and so, thinking on our feet, it’s what we are paid to do, we ‘invented’ a rather gorgeous walk from Llanberis which had much interest and delighted all.
Anglesey
We met for a walk to Ynys Llanddwyn which is near Newborough on Anglesey. This is a stunning walk having a remarkable beach, a fine peninsula replete with two lighthouses and a fine pine forest to finish. We were let down by Natural Resources Wales staff, but more of that in a later post.
Waterfalls
Back on home turf, the waterfall walk was a breeze to deliver and big fun for those used to expansive landscapes and no hills…
Tenby
Our final destination with the Dutch was Tenby, which we walked to from Lydstep. This five-mile trek is gorgeous and especially so in the summer sun :)
