What a week! Three walks that helped Andy top up his tan :) The weather was fine with temperatures around 20 degrees but a cool breeze was present on the open hillsides making for delightful and pleasant hiking.
Waterfalls
What an absolutely lovely group! Two groups of two picked up from Cardiff and one met at the start point. We were getting close to having members of the group from all of the continents with two from the US, two from Sri Lanka, one from Australia and of course Andy from the UK. The weather was stunning, the waterfalls at times very quiet and uncrowded and the global chit-chat entertaining!
Snowdon
It was a busy weekend in Snowdonia. All car parks for walks up Snowdon were full by 0700 and this was also repeated on Sunday. Take this as a warning, arrive VERY early indeed on sunny holiday weekends OR later, a 1pm start would see space in some car parks and walk down the early evening, with crowds mostly dissipated, is a fine thing.
The group today was meant to be six in total but three were no-shows and one dropped out after a short while. She completed the trek, under supervision, but simply wanted to walk alone. So Andy managed to summit two from his group and they had a fine time indeed. Shocking was the amount of people on the summit with the queue to get a summit photo being long and taking about an hour to get there. Our clients didn’t bother with that.
Snowdon
Andy overnighted in his car at Snowdon Ranger car park in order to block out some parking for his clients today. Seven were meant to arrive but two were no-shows so with a group of five the walk began. And guess what? All five made it to the summit! Once again the queue for the summit photo was an hour long but hey, it was fine weather and all were in good spirits and so why not chill for a bit? Andy chilled a little lower than the summit and patiently waited for his clients to return before a lovely descent, off the main path and taking in views towards Llanberis.
