Wales Outdoors delivered three events this week. It’s good to start of the New Year with a diverse range of provision and we thank our clients for booking us for these tours… Loads of pics in the galleries of these three days out - check them out below :)
Pen y Fan
A private booking from Emily who was spending the festive season out and about in a hired camper van - What a lovely thing to do. Emily is a lovely person and we had a blast getting in a s much as we could of Pen y Fan before descending a little below the summit due to the horrendous wind, about 90 mph we would estimate!
East of Cardiff
And just a couple of days later a private booking, two from the US on a bit of an engagement fest. One had already proposed so the other, in the spirit of the holidays and gift giving, proposed and gave up their ring at the romantic ruin of Tintern Abbey. We got to see a hell of a lot more of ancient Wales along the way too…
Cwmcarn Social Hike
It was forecast for a snow bomb, putting a few of our hikers off making the journey to the Gwent Valleys, shame on the Met Office for truly being so RUBBISH! As although cold and walking on frozen ground the weather was perfect for a brisk walk and just look what we achieved (stats courtesy of Martin)
We took in these places of interest:
Sirhowy Country Park
Wattsville Castle
St Tudor’s Church
Cwmcarn Forest Park
Twmbarlum Iron Age Hill Fort
Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal
We had 11 people out for the hike, from as far away as the Bristol, the Forest of Dean and the Gower…
What a grand way to kick off our socials for 2025, with old faces and new alike and a real blow away the cobwebs hike :)
And the dogs had a good deal of fun too :)
