Wales Outdoors delivered one waterfall walk this week and Wales Guided Tours delivered three guided tours exploring South Wales.
The Gower
We kicked off the week with a tour of the Gower, stopping at Mumbles, Gower Heritage Centre, Three Cliffs Bay and Rhossili for the best beach in Wales and Worms Head. Kate and the pooches accompanied me on this one, joining the five clients from Canada, the US and India.
Three Castles, One Abbey and Roman Caerleon
Tuesday was a sell out event but unfortunately we had a flat tyre on the way back from the Gower the previous day and issues with the locking wheel nut, so it was a cancelled day, something that we really do not like doing, and shuttles to the garage who needed an hour and a half to remove the wheel… These things happen, especially with vehicles now not being issued with a spare wheel and a jack… That is something I’ll be rectifying…
Waterfalls
Graham was out with four very lovely Brits from Somerset, covering for Andy while he met with the Natural Resources Wales area managers for the waterfalls area. See a separate post for full details of the meeting. The four had a fine day, despite the rain which was heavy at times, and even got to get up to some foraging along the way :)
The Gower
Darren was our coach guide for this trip to the Gower for 30 people from the Netherlands. All ran like clockwork, with Gower Heritage Centre being a highlight of the day and many purchases of food and souvenirs from the shop there.
The Valleys
Andy was back at it, vehicle good to go, for a tour of the Valleys, again a sell-out day. Iran, the US and Malaysia were represented and we visited Castell Coch, Nantgarw Chinaworks, Rhondda Heritage Park, Penderyn Whisky and a drive through some scenic countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Another rainy day but as all tours were indoors that was not much of an issue.
