Wales Outdoors delivered one event this week, a rather windy private tour out to the Gower. We made a huge amount of changes to the website and began the long process of generating new information pages that will grow the size of the website and ensure that if is both useful and informative for potential clients. Meetings through the week came thick and fast and the onboarding of new products and resellers continued. It’s that time of the year when a mad flurry of internet activity takes place to ensure we are 100% fit for purpose come the tourist season, which in Wales is generally Easter to October.
The Gower
It was forecast to be a dreadful weather day and indeed that is how it appeared to be at the start of the day. Cardiff was super windy and dark, very dark, and wet, very wet. First stop was Mumbles and a wander there to be capped by an Italian hot chocolate at Verdi’s then onto Three Cliffs Bay for an ‘Abbey Road’ photo and a bit of a run up the dunes to Pennard Castle. Gower Heritage Centre were warm and welcoming and the ladies just loved it. So much to see and so much to learn with regard to the history and folklore and working lives of the people of the Gower.
It was brightening a little as we approached Rhossili and our walk out to Worms Head was made fun by the slipping and sliding on the waterlogged ground and the ponies that graze the cliff tops, making them golf course green perfect. A hike to the beach and explore of the remains of the Helvetia folloiwed by a pint in the pub, Gower Ale, made for a fine end to the day.

Remember, we have a social hiking group walk on the 5th April and this will have a meet point of Blaenonneu Quarry Car Park and will visit the Chartists Cave. Join Us!
