I am now live on Visit Britain and see VisitWales' protectionism/micro management as a kick in the teeth to bone fide tourism operators in Wales.
On VisitBritain, I have a live booking system which has my availability across my most popular walks, in the same way that this works on TripAdvisor, Airbnb etc and at the same rates (for half this rate please see the website here and for £12.50 rates please join us at Wales Outdoors on meetup.com)
The Welsh Governments stance on not allowing some businesses, without payment for unnecessary accreditation, onto the Visit Wales site is both damaging to those businesses and damaging to Welsh Tourism in general.
I would like to see an end to this thread of discussion with the management at VisitWales and in the first instance the dropping of the requirement for accreditation for qualified guided walk providers by the end of this year, this on the basis that this is now untenable given Visit Britain's inclusion of the same.
These are the products listed on Visit Britain but BANNED from the Visit Wales website:

It’s taken me a very long time to get here, effectively an on-off campaign of about 20 years. I get acceptance of poor practice, apologies and following my court action, actual action in doing the right thing and levelling off of the playing field for all those with accredited access to the Visit Wales platform. Apparently this was onerous and expensive. But, hey ho, it should have been done right from the get-go.
This then is the final hurdle, to have those in the Welsh Government see sense and open the doors to qualified, insured and five-star providers of guided walks in the wonderful Welsh countryside.
