The WORY - July 2020
One of twelve post highlighting the best of 2020 - this is The Wales Outdoors Review of the Year!
Woohoo!!! 6th July and the hills were opened up for us to walk and Wales Outdoors MUST HAVE BEEN the very first group walk provider out and about anywhere in the UK!
We kicked off the return to freedom and the removal of the wholly unnecessary and in my opinion dangerous and damaging blanket ban on walking in the countryside with a FREE walk in the Brecon Beacons and one that took in a swim with the fishes to boot! Click on the links for galleries of gorgeous photos from these walks...
In fact we managed to crowbar into July, and at short notice as the Welsh Government gave little lead in notification, nine great walks in South Wales including the waterfalls, Pen y Fan horseshoe, the Taff Trail and thew Roman Road and Hidden Valley.
Campaigns raged on and I criticised SWOAPG, the BBNP Wardens Service and Cardiff City Council and awe launched an now out of date and not to be used google store app and Airbnb found Wales Outdoors fit for purpose...
All in all a busy and enjoyable month if fraught with peoples trepidation about being out again. It's going to take a very long time to undo the psychological damage being done by this ongoing Covid 19 'Crisis'.
