ABOUT We drive to Stanstead from Cardiff (or meet at the airport) and fly to Salzburg and then travel on from that city to Berchestgaden, a small town situated in a valley and excellent walking country. Well stay at a guesthouse and have a few day-long walks and spa visits before heading to Salzburg for a couple of nights exploring that remarkable city of Mozart. Andy knows this area well and has honed this tour to include the best the area has to offer. There is much history in the area and all services are well-maintained and generally open at this time of the year. The spas are second to none. Salzburg’s newly refurbished rooftop pool and spa puts Bath Spa to shame! Watzmann Spa is just amazing…
WALKS Walks and excursions will include Konigsee and a remarkable boat trip on that lake, we'll walk through pine forest to see how close (depends on the snow) we can get to Obersalzburg, much beloved of Hitler, a city tour circumnavigating the old town of Salzburg and Sound Of Music countryside that is truly second to none.
SPAS Germans do spas second to none! This tour includes two spa trips, to Watzmann in Berchtesgaden and to Salzburgs municipal. There is a free day planned in whilst in Berchtesgaden and Andy will likely head over to Rupertus Therme for a good part of the day and you can do your own thing (walking, mine tour, chilling) or join him for another spa session. Please note German and Austrian Spas are 100% naturist, there will be nude people and you will be required to be nude if you visit the spa.
IMPORTANT This is a budget tour and is fully inclusive of good accommodation, public transport, two spa visits and the Konigsee boat and a cable car ride. See the itinerary for a general plan but note that this might change due to issues beyond our control and the prevailing weather.
