New Subscriber Rates And Chat Enabled At The Wales Outdoors Blog
NEWS JUST IN 11/2/25 - Announcing the installation of a virtual assistant, we call it a ‘digital guide’, at the Wales Outdoors website. Go give it a whirl, ask it some questions, be as bizarre and confusing as you fancy, the engine driving the guide seems unflappable :) BUT, if you find a ‘flap’ do let us know and there will be something in to for you :)
And now onto the news regarding this blogs functionality…
In the spirit of a new year and a return to providing a local and social walking group, South Wales Hiking Group, we have made a few changes to this blogs provision. These are the main changes:
Reduction in subscriber rates
Increased benefits for subscribers
Launching the chat feature
Rates are now as follows:
Free - Access to all posts and able to comment on post dated Jan 2025 onwards
Paid - Free attendance at our monthly social meetup, hikes in South Wales. Access to all posts and able to comment on the complete archive. 20% discount for our guided walks and tours. Free ‘control’ point. We’ll monitor you when you are soloing a hill day you’ll check in with us when done. This services uses Outdoor Actives ‘Buddy Beacon’

All subscribers can now access the ‘Chat’ function, which is designed to engage readers and have a closed community of people interested in Wales, the outdoors and of course Wales Outdoors.
Free subscribers can comment and paid subscribers can start new threads. This chat function will be a slow burn but we hope in time that it becomes a go to place to engage with Wales Outdoors and the South Wales Hiking Group members as well as the thousands of Wales Outdoors subscribers.
So, we hope you subscribe, it really helps us continue to maintain the blog and to report on issues relevent to tourism and the outdoors in Wales and it supports the maintenance of our social hiking group.
