June Island Hopping Expedition In Scotland

Expedition Scotland 10th - 17th June 2023

I'm planning this trip which will be a five-person, from Cardiff and along the route pickups, expedition to Scotland taking in 2 bus journeys, 7 ferries, three islands, mountains and of course the glorious coastline of Jura, Kintyre and Arran. It will be a backpacking trip.

Ferry timetables are not yet available but I will firm up the route as soon as they are.

It will be an 8-day trip. The cost will be £425pp and you will need to provide your own walking and camping kit although help with kit lists and minimising weight will be provided. Where campsites are available we'll use those but there will be a good few nights of wild camping.

The total distance walked will be 90 miles and we'll do that at no more than 15 miles a day. Of course, the ferries offer great opportunities for rest and recuperation and mostly the walking is coastal and so relatively flat. There are two mountain days planned, on Arran and on Jura, but there are foul weather alternatives to these, along the coast, which we'll use if the weather is poor or the group opt for an easier option.

The £425 includes all planning and booking and costs of tickets, a seat in the car to Scotland (and back!), all guiding and three campsites along the route. Exceptional weather is not guaranteed ;)
