Holy Loaf
It was a challenge day, the Holy Loaf Challenge! After walking the Sugar Loaf and then The Skirrid as shorter walks over the past few weeks Andy had planned in a mega challenge day that was 12.5 miles long and included 1000metres of ascent... think of snowdon but double the distance...
We met at the National Trust Car Park (more about charging for that in a forthcoming 'Monday Moan') in bright but moody weather and headed off towards Sugar Loaf across field and over styles.

It was a rather lovely day for Andy, being populated by walking group friends that he had not seen for some time. In fact out of the 19 people present 11 had been on holiday with him to places as diverse as Iceland and Tenerife and Snowdonia and Flatholm...
Sugar Loaf was a joy to walk and coming down and after lunch on the hill we stopped off at a pub for a cuppa - how relaxed for a challenge day :)
The Skirrid was a wonderful walk too with high winds on top adding to the excitement. From the summit we dropped down to the car park and said our farewells. Until next time :)
Back in Cardiff Andy and the girls stopped off for a Thali at the wonderful Madhav's and that was it, job done.
As this is such a fine day we will likely be delivering this again and perhaps in the autumn of 2020 :)
