Gellihaf House
One of our members, Cath, is the owner of a rather lovely boutique B & B (that title really does not do it justice) and if you are coming from afar for one of our walks then we highly recommend seeing if she has availability...
This is a brief description of the property from the Gellihaf House website:
'The current Gellihaf House completed in 1931, stands on the site where the old Gellihaf House Farm had stood for generations. Information on the Farmhouse is currently being researched but we know that the last occupier of the Farm was a solicitor, William Ebsworth whose family had lived and farmed there for many years. He passed away in 1927 and his daughter Edith, a spinster, had no desire to live alone in such a large house so she sold off the barn separately, allowing the main residence and outbuildings to be sold to a local businessman called Herbert Davies who owned the local abattoir. He promptly demolished the old farmhouse and rebuilt Gellihaf House in the Grand Manor House ‘Arts and Crafts’ style that we see today. It stands in impressive gardens and grounds and retains many of its original features. A beautiful, imposing house in which we hope you will thoroughly enjoy yourselves.'
Go treat yourself :)
