I'm not sure who is scamming who or what is going on but there is a REAL problem with Facebook and the Wales Outdoors Facebook Page. In particular the events that we list and are used as signposts to our booking system.
This was what 'Andy's Amazing Eight Waterfalls Walk' event page on Facebook looked like on Saturday morning:

It's a deluge of scammers pretending that they have tickets for sale in order, I believe, to harvest your bank details.
I've complained in the past to fb about this, a problem that could easily be fixed with a short piece of coding, but it's difficult to contact fb and their complaints forms are not human responded to but AI reviewed (intelligence here being a moot point).
And so I sent in a complaint for each and every scamming post, reporting the offending fb account. This is what I received back for every complaint:
I also asked for a review of the complaints and again they found that nothing was against their Community Standards:
And so I sent this:
'I've reported multiple people for pretending to own tickets for my events and posting to my events stating they have them for sale. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY TICKETS. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. This happens on lots of my events and I think it is appalling that you allow this to continue. Are Facebook in the business of supporting criminal activity? I think Facebook are as you seem unable to do anything about this. Please STOP SCAMMERS FROM POSTING ON MY EVENTS. I DO NOT ALLOW RE-SELLING so I am happy for you to apply code to disallow any comment that includes any reference to selling tickets. Please respond in person as my members deserve better than your previous bot responses on this matter.'
