Mr Mark Drakeford certainly does not as he has been ignoring all communication from me, his office staff being the iron-clad gatekeepers you would expect from disdainful paid employees of the state.
Mark Drakeford met with Wales Outdoors, whilst First Minister, and agreed to assist in resolving my complaint against Visit Wales. He has done nothing of the sort. The Welsh government have and continues to preside over a department that is failing and that does not play fair, abide by its own rules or indeed answer questions raised by concerned citizens.
THE EVIDENCE
Anyone calling themselves an operator or any accommodation provider can list unaccredited hikes and adventure activities. This is clearly against Visit Wale’s published onboarding rules (see image below). I could see that discriminatory practice taking place, hence my complaint.
Why should Wales Outdoors as qualified professionals of thirty years pay for something that is not required in UK law when we can see hundreds of unaccredited businesses, offering similar products to Wales Outdoors, being listed? These businesses Visit Wales was and are platforming, and against their own onboarding rules! You can find detailed evidence here:
It’s an open and shut case. Wales Outdoors have proven Andrew Lamb’s argument to be correct, that Wales Outdoors has been discriminated in the tourism marketplace in Wales for almost five years.
And Drakeford? Tumbleweed. And a remedy? There is none. The Welsh Government remain silent on this matter and it seems will continue to do so. They believe that ignoring a problem will mean that it goes away.
Shame on all that work for the Welsh Government.
