This is the man that owns The Great Weekender. John Evans. He has been plagiarising my product. Do you know him?
I was searching through Tripadvisor for my listings, to get links for a review aggregator, and I came across this:
This is not me, this is a wannabe…
My product, available since April 2023 is this:
What The Great Weekender has done is copied my headline for the tour and mixed it up a little, making a common mistake. Those who do not know the Brecon Beacons often call them the Breacons. Further, The Great Weekender has plagiarised my description and timings. What an utter arse!
The Great Weekender’s itinerary leaves much to be desired, for example, details of passing by Sgwd Einon Gam. Now, Sgwd Einon Gam is not on a public footpath and requires four river crossings to get to… Finally, all of his named photos are not of the waterfalls or features he is describing.
In comparison, my itinerary is correct, with the correct naming of features, demonstrating actual knowledge of the area.
I am so fed up with unimaginative souls who consistently attempt to build on my success and steal my business. There is a post coming naming and shaming those from the past who have attempted the same. But back to now…
If The Great Weekender had not stolen my words and had genuinely been walking the waterfalls and gorge walking at Dinas for 10 years, had developed his own walk and listed that, then I’d have nothing to say.
But this unprofessional and likely unqualified chancer has and did not. He is dangerous, a liar and a fraud. Go on, sue me!
I have asked TripAdvisor to remove his listing for intellectual property infringement but have no faith that they will. They mostly couldn’t give two hoots…
I have also asked Get Your Guide to remove the same - he plagiarised my product and put it on Get Your Guide too! Any solicitors out there know of any recompense I ought to be seeking please be in touch.
Be careful who you book adventures with. Check them out. Check their listings. Getting the name of the national park wrong is bad, not being able to name correctly a major waterfall on a waterfall walk, is very dangerous indeed…
You can book our walks through the Wales Outdoors Website or, if you are a group, you can book us for a bespoke adventure, you choose the date and time, using the ‘Book Your Guide’ option.
