Berchtesgaden & Salzburg
Andy and Kate spent New Years in Hitlers favourite place, Berchtesgaden. It's in the Bavarian Alps and is stunning! The walking is great, the mountains are gorgeous and no one does the festive season better than the Germans with outdoor markets and a good likelyhood of crisp snow.

Following a few days walking and exploring, including a boat trip on Konigsee and a couple of visits to the lovely Berchesgaden Spa, Watzmann Therme, it was then off to Salzburg for a few nights there before heading back to the UK.
Salzburg Gallery
Salzburg is a wonderful city, built along a wide river and surrounded by hills large and small and with fortifications and walls on every hilltop bearing testament to the areas long and troubled past. And the municipal city spa has had a makeover and is THE BEST that Andy has visited, and he's been to a few. For £13 you get as long as you like in a centre with a rooftop pool (in Salzburg that is amazing!) and multiple sauna and steam rooms.
Andy WILL be listing a small group guided tour to Salzburg and Berchesgaden. He's become quite knowledgable about the area having been three times and now feels that the walks and spa visits and city tours are good to go...
Look out for the details, perhaps out this coming week, for a tour to Germany and Austria sometime in September or October :)
