Airbnb Have Deemed Us Fit For Purpose
Cheers!
After threatening just before lockdown to pay a visit to the Airbnb offices and then having lockdown put an end to that threat I had left the challenge to Airbnb and given up on ever having an experience listed with them. Here's my post details that...
Then...
As we came out of lockdown I received an email - re-submit your experience it said, and so I did and guess what? The experience that they denied a listing for prior to lockdown they now allowed a listing for, and here it is - https://www.airbnb.co.uk/experiences/1642482
I've no idea why no and now why yes...
This is sooo frustrating. Wastes so much time. De-motivates managers. Stifles the flourishing of small business. But this is the small business owners new normal. We need these large portals to get ourselves to new audiences. Gone are the days when a well designed leaflet and good relations with the local Tourist Information Centre was enough. Now it's keeping one step ahead of the competition and internet marketing wherever you can get it. And we have to be listed on platforms like Facebook and Google and Airbnb as that is where the punters go to find the events. The first port of call is definitely not, now, the business website.
But...
I've got a plan and it's linked to how I see the future of business and product promotions developing. And I know, given it having a year or two to bed in, I know it will be enough on its own and I will be able to wave goodbye to the big platforms once and for all. Fingers crossed ;)
Just for now though, well done Andy, well done Wales Outdoors and thanks to Airbnb for deeming us fit for purpose, finally...
