2000 Footers 3
It followed what feels like months of torrential rain and very high winds and was the day prior to the peak of the bad weather, Storm Dennis, on the very next day. And so it was with some trepidation that Andy met a hardy group of walkers at Blaen Llia Car Park, newly refurbished for logging and open for walkers.
The walk is a fine day out in the lesser walked area of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Fforest Fawr and particularly that part of Fforest Fawr that is owned by the Cnewr Estate.
The route passes Man Made, a fine Latin inscribed stone that Andy did well to translate, on on through Pant Mawr, a limestone area full of holes in the ground and caves.

Then it was the three peaks of the day, Fan Gyhirych, Fan Fraith and Fan Nedd. It was tough, thee was no respite from the wind, even at lunch, and the trek up Fan Nedd was about as tough as it gets. A right proper mountain day to be sure...
We think it was gusting at close to 50mph!
The descent was easy enough and Andy got all back safely and mostly still with smile son their faces...
Until next time!
